Christmas OT Family Activities

HAND STRENGTH:
● Winter Animal Walks
Polar Bear
Penguin
Moose Walks
● Making homemade dough- bread, playdoh, salt dough
● Build house (for Santa, reindeer, gingerbread man) with legos
● Stirring, scooping during recipes
FINE MOTOR/VISUAL MOTOR:
● Stringing popcorn for Christmas Tree Decorations
Take a large needle and push popcorn through
● Allow child to assist wrapping a gift-
Use fingers to hold down ribbon
Fold wrapping paper
● Write Thank You Notes for presents
If working on copying letters, you write the note & have child copy
BILATERAL COORDINATION
● Use cookie cutters to cut out playdoh shapes or cookie dough
● Make candy canes with pipe cleaners & cereal pieces (form into the cane shape)
● Cut out paper snowflakes
● Use leftover wrapping paper to practice cutting skills
