Healthy Vocal Hygiene Tips
Ms. Jacey has some effective tips for good vocal hygiene. What is Vocal Hygiene? Just like it is important to keep up with oral hygiene and keeping your teeth in good shape, your vocal folds need care, too! Our vocal folds are what help us produce our voice – here are some ways you can keep them healthy:
Drink lots of water.
Avoid excessive caffeine and cough drops with menthol.
Speak at appropriate volume. Avoid whispering/shouting.
Avoid smoke or other irritants/allergens when possible.
Use a humidifier, especially during allergy season or in the winter.
