Yolanda graduated with a BS in Occupational therapy in 1984 from Loma Linda University with an emphasis in Pediatric Medicine. She practiced in a hospital pediatric setting for four years. She then was called to work specializing in hand therapy (private practice) for 30 years prior to moving to TN.
She understands what it is to have children with special needs as she has experienced this with her own children. She is Spanish-speaking and has a heart for those families who are trying to navigate different systems with a language barrier. Supporting families through education and learning is a passion of hers.
When Yolanda isn’t working, she is volunteering at her church as Children’s Ministries Coordinator and Prayer Ministries Coordinator. She enjoys event planning and decorating, flower arranging, gardening, crafts, and cooking. Yolanda is married to a dentist/pastor and has three grown sons (who have survived the challenges of childhood and are successful young men...there is hope!)
